Julie Schmidt is the owner/designer of Juliet Jewelry. Her line of women's jewelry combines her love of shapes, fine details and architecture. Her passion for art and design began at an early age, much of which was influenced by her mother and father. Julie was encouraged to look beyond the obvious to discover more intricate color combinations and unexpected proportions. She was challenged to visualize details, texture, and balance, to play with positive and negative space transforming those ideas into works of art.
Julie's passion led her to create a beaded jewelry in 1998. Then in 2005, she created a modern women's metalsmith sterling silver collection. She was invited to launch her newest jewelry line during the Mercedes Benz LA Fashion Week. In 2006 Juliet Jewelry had an exhibit through invitation only at Olympus Fashion Week Spring 2007 in New York City, launching her latest designs. Juliet Jewelry has been seen on Jess Zaino, a stylist on the Style Network channel wearing Juliet Jewelry's Signature Circle necklace. Juliet Jewelry has been featured in Daily Candy, Chicago Scene, Chicago Journal, Hong Kong Watch & Jewelry, Philadelphia Style, ABC Chicago News, and Chicago Magazine. In early 2008 the Diamond Collection was released consisting of necklaces, rings and a bracelet.
Julie creates her jewelry using the finest Sterling Silver, 14 Karat gold-filled strong yet vulnerable mediums. Creating designs also in 14 Karat and 18 Karat gold upon request. All of her jewelry is skillfully crafted in her studio and shows the mark of her hand, reflecting the perfect imperfections of life.
